WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Yasar Guler today in Brussels, Belgium.
The two leaders discussed the security situation in Syria and the importance of U.S.-Turkish cooperation in the region.
The U.S. values its strategic bilateral relationship with Turkey.
Gen. Milley was in Brussels to participate in the NATO Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session, held Jan. 14-15 at NATO Headquarters.
