The Community College of the Air Force celebrated its 43rd birthday on April 1, 2015. But the spring season brought a lot more to the college.

CCAF awarded 11,575 associate degrees to its spring graduating class, the largest spring class in its 43-year history. More than 456,000 Airmen have graduated since CCAF's beginnings in 1972.

"The CCAF vision for the future is to become the community college of choice, providing a path to higher learning for those with a calling to serve," said CCAF Vice Commandant Chief Master Sgt. Andrew Hollis. "The Air Force values the deliberate development and success of Airmen and recognizes that CCAF is an integral aspect of both."

Data provided by DANTES in March 2015 validates the CCAF vision through its students' successes. DANTES' statistical data show that of all the associate degrees awarded to enlisted members in the Department of Defense in fiscal 2014, 77 percent were from CCAF, up from 58.8 percent in fiscal 2013.

"This is a clear indicator that no other military branch in the world replicates the education system enjoyed by enlisted Airmen in the Air Force," said Hollis. "I encourage all Airmen to join the celebration and toast the achievements of these graduates."
