The 2020 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for the Hawaii-Pacific region is nearing its end, but there is still one more week to contribute.

CFC 2020 kicked off on Oct. 5 and has so far generated $1.2 million in total dollars and monetized volunteer hours. Over 2,000 donors have supported local, national, and international charities since the start of the campaign—at a time when many people are especially in need.

“Among other challenges, COVID-19 has definitely impacted many people’s financial situations,” said Lt. Col. Jackie Kim, 2020 CFC Hawaii-Pacific Campaign Manager. “It’s been inspiring to see so many people show some love and donate their personal time and money to meaningful causes this year.”

Each week of the CFC has been dedicated to a different cause, from human rights to animal welfare and more. For the final week, however, the CFC is encouraging federal employees to choose their own cause and participate in a countdown of activities to “Be the Face of Change” and “Finish Strong”.

“We’ve made it very easy to find a charity that speaks to you—whether it’s military-related, supports a health cause, or promotes education in under-resourced communities,” said Kim. “Unfortunately the impacts of COVID-19 have significantly decreased many of our charities’ resources while also increasing the need for their services —let’s help our communities by Showing Some Love and Finishing Strong in this last week!”

Current federal civilian and active duty military employees may make contributions using payroll deduction or by electronic means, including credit, debit cards and e-checks, as approved by the Director of the Office of Personnel Management. Contractor personnel, credit union employees and other persons present on federal premises, as well as retired federal employees, may make single contributions to the CFC by electronic means, including credit cards, as approved by the director. Federal employees can make monetary pledges by going to the website below.

Also as a reminder, federal civilian and active duty military employees may pledge volunteer hours to qualified charities. Please reach out to your favorite charity to see how you can help in-person or virtually. Pledged volunteer hours must be accomplished by 31 December 2021.
