About USAF Journal of the Americas

Mission Statement

The US Air Force Journal of the Americas is a forum for the dissemination of original research articles and review articles in technology, strategy and aerospace doctrine of the Air Force of the United States and our Allies in our Western Hemisphere.

The US Air Force Journal of the Americas is published triennially in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, at Maxwell Air Base, Montgomery, Alabama, with 2,000 copies distributed among Ibero-American Air Forces, libraries, and regional universities in more than 20 countries.

The views and opinions expressed or implied are those of the authors and should not be construed as carrying the official sanction of the United States Air Force, the Department of Defense, Air Education and Training Command, Air University, or other agencies or departments of the US government.

Over the years, since we first started in 1949, the name of our journal has changed with the times. Thus, in 2019, the “Air & Space Power Journal – in Spanish” became the “US Air Force Journal of the Americas”. Our new name reflects our focus on the entirety of our Hemisphere, publishing not only in Spanish, but also in Portuguese and English, the three predominant languages of our continent. However, our essence remains the same, a journal whose mission seeks to stimulate professional dialogue on Air and Space Power among the members of the Armed Forces of the Americas, historians, professors, and the general public.
