WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. spoke with Chairman of the Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Park Han-ki Jan. 31.

Gen. Dunford thanked Gen. Park for his support over the past year and reaffirmed his commitment to the U.S.-ROK alliance. The two leaders also discussed several issues of mutual concern. They committed to continuing cooperation as allies and to maintaining close coordination.


The United States - Republic of Korea alliance is a lynchpin of stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
