Graduation not only represents the successful completion of Squadron Officer School but enables those graduating to become better leaders and the future leaders of the Air Force. Graduation takes place in Polifka and is attended by distinguished guests including Honorary Squadron Commanders as well as family, spouses and children. Graduation is a time to acknowledge the contributions of groups, individuals, and flights for exceptional work throughout their course.
Congratulations to the class of 19C and the flight commanders who were vital to the success of the class sharing their expertise and knowledge on each and every lesson!
19C graduated 641 students across 46 flights. Each flight was composed of thirteen to fourteen Air Force officers, Department of Defense civilians, and International Officers who worked together throughout the course. Our International Officers represented 19 different countries including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Botswana, Chad, Colombia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Uganda, and Ukraine. Although the class was here for six and a half weeks their impact is long lasting. These students donated much of their time and resources to special programs. 19C donated over 221 hours of community service to the Wreaths Across America Ceremony at the Alabama National Cemetery, the Montgomery Humane Society, local churches, and over 550 pounds of items to the Montgomery Food Bank. In addition, they fed 90 families at the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, donated over $200 to the Family Giving Tree, and $1369 worth of items to Toys For Tots. Finally, 19C donated over 175 units of blood to the Armed Services Blood Program and to the American Red Cross.
Here is a look at the six and a half weeks of 19C:
Good luck to the Class of 19C as you go forth with new relationships that last a lifetime and welcome to the class of 19D.
