Graduation not only represents the successful completion of Squadron Officer School but enables those graduating to become better leaders and the future leaders of the Air Force. Graduation takes place in Polifka and is attended by distinguished guests including Honorary Squadron Commanders as well as family, spouses and children. Graduation is a time to acknowledge the contributions of groups, individuals, and flights for exceptional work throughout their course.
Congratulations to the class of 19D and the flight commanders who were vital to the success of the class sharing their expertise and knowledge on each and every lesson!
19D graduated 689 students across 50 flights. Each flight was composed of thirteen to fourteen Air Force officers and Department of Defense civilians who worked together throughout the course. Although the class was here for six and a half weeks their impact is long lasting. These students donated much of their time and resources to special programs. 19D donated over 802 hours of community service to the Habitat for Humanity, Wetumpka Tornado Relief, the Humane Society, the Y.M.C.A, Homeless Veterans, the Montgomery Zoo, the O'Connor Tennis Center, and the Legacy Flight Academy. In addition, they donated over $1130 to these programs. Finally, 19D donated over 266 units of blood to the Armed Services Blood Program and the LifeSouth Community Blood Center.
Here is a look at the six and a half weeks of 19D:
Good luck to the Class of 19D as you go forth with new relationships that last a lifetime and welcome to the class of 19E.
