COLONEL RAYMOND “BANZAI” ROUNDS

Colonel Raymond K. Rounds is the Commander, Ira C. Eaker Center for Leadership Development at Maxwell, Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama. The Eaker Center develops leaders and educates warfighters, while also providing functionally-aligned technical training, and professional continuing education to Department of Defense personnel. The Center is comprised of seven primary schools: Commanders' Professional Development School, Warfighting Education, Force Support Professional Development School, Air Force Chaplain Corps College, Air Force Culture and Language Center, the Chinese Aerospace Studies Institute, and the Defense Financial Management and Comptroller School. Each year, the Center educates more than 30,000 students in the classroom and via distance learning.

Colonel Rounds commissioned in 2003 as a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has served as an instructor pilot in both the F-15E and Mirage 2000D and has deployed multiple times in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, SPARTAN SHIELD, INHERENT RESOLVE, and ALLIES REFUGE. Colonel Rounds also served as the Strategy Team Chief for the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Executive Action Group. He holds advanced degrees from the University of Maryland and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies and holds a PhD in Government from Georgetown University.
