Steven Garland speaks to about 60 civilian guests and military members on the subject of space at its potential future capabilities during the River Region Forum held at Officer Training School's Hoover Auditorium, Sept. 29, 2016. The general is the commander of the Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accessions and Citizen Development here, and his last assignment was as vice commander, 14th Air Force, Air Force Strategic, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The forum is a community outreach event that brings civic and military leaders together on Maxwell about five times a year to exchange ideas and discuss topics of interest to both communities.
