U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) Department of Health and Social Affairs (DHSA) will conduct the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) exercise, PACIFIC ANGEL 26-3, from April 27 to May 1, 2026.

The multinational exercise is designed to enhance interoperability and readiness between the U.S. and FSM to respond effectively to regional contingencies. The exercise will feature several key activities, including medical health services outreach (HSO), medical subject matter expert exchanges (SMEE), and tactical airlift training operations.

"PACIFIC ANGEL is a powerful demonstration of our enduring partnership with the Federated States of Micronesia," said Lt. Col. Chuck Gomes, Pac Angel 26-3 mission commander. "By training together, we not only enhance our combined readiness for disaster response but also build lasting relationships and directly support the health and well-being of local communities. Our goal is to ensure a more secure and stable Indo-Pacific through mutual cooperation and realistic training."

During the exercise, two PACAF C-130J aircraft will be staged at Chuuk International Airport, conducting airland operations throughout the island states. Medical teams from both nations will deploy to Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, and Kosrae islands to provide direct patient care and exchange expertise with local medical professionals.

This exercise aims to improve combined capabilities, evaluate and support the FSM's long-term modernization efforts, and strengthen the bonds between the United States and its regional allies and partners.
