Simulated helicopter flying with a 'BAT'
The Black Hawk Aircrew Trainer, nicknamed “the BAT,” is a highly immersive, home-station flight training device for the UH-60M aircraft, a modernized version of the former UH-60. The only BAT simulator in the National Guard’s inventory, located at the Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center in Johnston, Iowa, can serve 130 regional pilots per year and provide more than 2,000 hours of simulator flight time.
