24/7 Vigilance: inside Maxwell's Command Post
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Noah Roubicek, 42d Wing Staff Agency Command Post emergency actions controller, makes a test call on the UNIFY telephone system at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, Dec. 12, 2025. This modernized system significantly increases call volume capacity and recording capabilities, providing the 42 Air Base Wing and commander with immediate, accurate data for effective decision-making and emergency response. The new UNIFY telephone system and integrated radio suite act as the wing's "nerve center," enabling seamless communication across multiple radio frequencies and networks for enhanced situational awareness.
