The legislature proclaimed the day as Alabama State Legislature Military Appreciation Day to honor the state’s military, veterans and families. Other invited military speakers included The Honorable Stephen Simmons, deputy assistant Secretary of War for Military and Family Policy, and Army Maj. Gen. David Pritchett, The Adjutant General, Alabama National Guard.
