Retired Col. Peterburs served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and flew 49 combat missions in the P-51 Mustang. Air Command and Staff College’s Gathering of Eagles program is an annual educational event designed to honor aviation pioneers and provide military members and the local community an opportunity to learn from individuals who have made significant contributions to air, space and cyberspace power.
