Description: As Academic Program Manager for General/Flag Officer (GOFO) Education courses such as the Combined Forces Air Component Commander (CFACC) Course, Joint Flag Officer Warfighting Course (JFWOC), Senior Joint Information Operations Applications Course (SJIOAC), and Cyberspace Operations Applications Course (COEC) or Professional Continuing Education (PCE) courses such as the Contingency Wartime Planning Course (CWPC), Joint Air Operations Planning Course (JAOPC), and Joint Task Force Staff Basic Course (JTFSBC), field grade officers coordinate curriculum development to meet CJCS, CSAF, and HAF Course Sponsor academic goals across multiple venues. The candidate leads implementation and application of the Student Information Systems (SIS), management of classroom design, SIS student on-boarding, virtual registrar support, and AFERB funding coordination across all MAJCOMS and the Guard/Reserve. Leads team that provides expertise in the design, development, and execution of academic curriculum surveys; compiles data collected for surveys and creates summary reports. Ensures quality of products and reports. Develops support strategies for WE-assigned faculty and subject matter experts to support external requests for topical education briefs and course instruction. Academic Program Managers may also serve as an instructor qualified in one or more PCE courses providing subject matter expertise in a variety of areas such as: National Security Strategy; Joint Warfare; Joint Air Operations Plans; Operational Art/Design/Approach; Joint All Domain Operations; Agile Combat Employment; Logistics Planning and Operations; Five Paragraph Mission-Type Orders; and APEX/JOPES.
Eligibility: Major [USAF only] (can accept one up or down in rank) with an outstanding military record of performance, excellent communication skills, and completed rank appropriate PME (by any method). Recent deployed staff experience within previous 36 months and instructor/curriculum development experience is highly desired. Master’s degree required.

Organizational Mission: The Warfighting Education (WE) Directorate provides focused Professional Continuing Education (PCE) and General/Flag Officer education for the Air Force and Joint Staff. WE plans, develops, integrates and executes PCE courseware oriented toward force generation, deployment, and sustainment (Contingency Wartime Planner Course), Air Component staff planning (Joint Air Operations Planner Course), Joint Task Force (JTF) Headquarters planning and operations (JTF Staff Basic Course), and tailored support to Numbered Air Force, Component Major Command staffs, Guard/Reserve and Combatant Command staffs through mobile education teams. Additionally, on behalf of the CSAF and CJCS, WE manages and executes five General/Flag Officer courses at the O7 - O9 level.
