Description: Serves as senior staff in the Air Force Culture and Language Center. Officer is responsible for overseeing the implementation of language learning for Air Force personnel (other than language specialists) on behalf of the Air Force Senior Language Authority (SLA), HAF/A1D. Maintains the substantive expertise on language learning programs for the Air Force and advises the Air Staff on language learning policy. Creates and supervises programs of language learning offered in all levels of professional military training, including resident and non-resident education programs. Advises the AU/CC and subordinate AU Center commanders on language learning, and secures the resources necessary for AU language programs. Develops the infrastructure at Maxwell AFB to support the language testing and maintenance for increasing numbers of language-enabled Airmen. Develops language learning programs and methodologies for Air Force Pre-deployment Preparation (PDP). Leads a department of up to twenty-five persons that includes Reserve Component military members, NSPS government employees and contractors.

Eligibility: Required – Lieutenant Colonel [USAF only], MA and/or PhD in a discipline relevant to culture, language or communications. Highly Desired – Instructor and/or Security Assistance background. YQH special experience identifier. International, Joint or HQ Staff experience, Command and Foreign Language.
