    In conjunction with the 2024 Beyond the Horizon Air and Space Show, Maxwell AFB showcased its inaugural Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Day event on April 5, 2024, drawing over 3,000 enthusiastic students from across Alabama.

  • AFIT faculty selected as Air Force Flemming Award nominee

    Air Force Institute of Technology faculty member Dr. Adib Samin is the Air Force nominee for the 75th annual Arthur S. Flemming Award, Basic Science Category. The winner will be honored at the 2024 National Academy of Public Administration Fall Meeting.

  • Air University hosts Japanese air defense leader

    Air University welcomed Gen. Hiroaki Uchikura, Koku-Jieitai (Japan Air Self-Defense Force) Chief of Staff, during the 2024 International Honor Roll event, at Maxwell Air Force Base, 17-20 April, 2024.

  • Purple star, the consistency for military children

    In 2022, eight River region schools achieved Purple Star designation in the inaugural year. By 2024, the number has grown to 76 schools with 53 additional schools that achieved Purple Star School designation and were recognized at the Alabama State Board of Education meeting.

  • AFIT Welcomes New Dean for Research

    The Air Force Institute of Technology welcomes Dr. Scott Graham as the new dean for research leading the Office of Research and Outreach. He is currently a professor of computer engineering in AFIT’s Graduate School of Engineering and Management.

    The Air Force Institute of Technology’s Graduate School of Engineering and Management held a commencement ceremony at the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio March 21 to celebrate 206 new graduates.
