WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with People's Liberation Army of China Chief of the Joint Staff Department Gen. Li Zuocheng by telephone today.
The introductory call between the two leaders provided an opportunity to discuss building a constructive, results-oriented U.S.-China defense relationship.
The two military leaders both agreed on the value of a productive dialogue, effectively managing differences, and cooperation on areas of common ground.
