Maxwell-Gunter is honoring spouses during the Spouse Appreciation Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 6 in the Maxwell event center.

Service members make endless sacrifices, and while they're away, their spouses make numerous sacrifices to support their families. They keep day-to-day tasks on track each day. They work around base and become involved with activities to make daily lives easier.

"At Spouse Appreciation Day, we hope to show our spouses how much they mean to us and how we are here to support them," said basewide special events programming coordinator Amanda Winters. "We're hoping to give our spouses a relaxing, informative morning, during which they are acknowledged for the significant contributions, support and sacrifices that they make every day."

Spouses will be able to tour booths of various vendors to gain valuable information, tips and ideas from exhibitors. Lunch and giveaways are being provided. Child care will be provided for children age one and older.

Reservations for child care can be made by contacting Ms. Winters at 953-6904 by April 29.

"Spouse Appreciation Day is an important event to host because our spouses impact and inspire us every day, and this is our way to say thank you and acknowledge their countless and unfailing contributions," said Ms. Winters.

The theme for this year's event tells of the appreciation felt at Maxwell-Gunter - "You're Our Inspiration, Now Let Us Be Yours."
