B-52 executes MIGHTY RHINO, integrating with African partners

  • Published

A U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress aircraft assigned to Bomber Task Force Europe executed mission MIGHTY RHINO on May 23, integrating with African partner forces in Morocco.

The bomber integrated with Royal Moroccan Air Force F-16s fighter jets in support of African Lion, the largest annual military exercise in Africa, demonstrating the reach of U.S. airpower and the U.S. Air Force’s enduring commitment to collaboration with partner forces.

“Posture isn’t about being seen, it’s about being ready,” U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Vincent Noel, commander of the deployed expeditionary bomb squadron, said. “Our team trains to integrate into any theater worldwide at a moment’s notice, act decisively, and prove what credible combat power really looks like.”

Bomber Task Force Europe missions like MIGHTY RHINO reinforce the United States’ ability to operate from forward locations with agility and precision while strengthening seamless cohesion through deliberate, disciplined operations across multiple theaters.
