Redirecting...

The Academic Affairs Directorate advances the mission of Air University’s schools, programs, and centers to educate and develop Air Warfighters in support of the National Defense Strategy by:

*  Identifying and facilitating current and future initiatives that transcend boundaries.

*  Coordinating and strengthening university governance, policies and procedures to coordinate decentralized execution of AU missions and priorities.

*  Supporting and validating the quality of faculty,  scholarship,  outcomes-based education and the student experience.

*  Data-Driven mission monitoring on program execution.

*  Engaging in collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders beyond AU.

Our nation’s defense rests on the intellectual strength and strategic clarity of its military leaders. We directly support the National Defense Strategy by cultivating those qualities through rigorous, purposeful professional military education.

As the world’s most advanced and dominant air force, we cannot deliver the integrated, lethal, and resilient capabilities required by the National Defense Strategy without leaders who possess the strategic vision, innovative thinking, and warfighter mindset.

Training provides Airmen with the technical mastery needed to operate and sustain the cutting-edge systems central to our strategy—systems that generate decisive advantages across multiple domains in support of national objectives.

However, the National Defense Strategy demands more than technical proficiency. It requires warfighters who can creatively employ these capabilities and leaders who can integrate them effectively to produce strategic and operational outcomes that deter aggression, prevail in conflict, and secure U.S. interests. These higher-order abilities can only be developed through deliberate, structured professional military education.

Developing innovative Air Warfighters who can conduct Joint All Domain Operations is the essence of Air Force professional military education. In an era defined by the priorities of the National Defense Strategy, its importance to our national security cannot be overstated.
