Soldiers of the Indiana National Guard’s 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team charge into the fight during a training assault for Orient Shield 2018. Orient Shield is an annual, bilateral, tactical field training exercise cohosted by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and U.S. Army Pacific Command. This marks the 33rd iteration of this exercise designed to enhance U.S. and Japan’s combat readiness and interoperability at the tactical level while strengthening bilateral relationships and demonstrating U.S. resolve to support the security interests of friends and allies in the region.
