The Four Chaplains Ceremony
The Four Chaplains were recognized for their service and sacrifice during The Four Chaplains Ceremony Feb. 12, 2019, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. In 1943, the chaplain’s transport ship was hit by a torpedo from a German submarine. Survivors witnessed the chaplains praying on the deck of the sinking ship after giving away their own life jackets. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Joshua Crawley)
