AFCENT Special Operations Task Group prepares JASSM capabilities
Members of the U.S. Air Force 6th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron and the 6th Special Operations Tasking Unit stage Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM) next to an MC-130J Commando II at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Aug. 6, 2023. The Rapid Dragon palletized munitions system is capable of deploying long-range cruise missiles using standard airdrop procedures from cargo aircraft like the MC-130J operated by Air Force Special Operations Command. Rapid Dragon is a precision munitions capability for medium-sized or larger cargo aircraft that allows U.S. forces a flexible rapid response option. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Frank Rohrig)
