COLONEL NEIL W. DIMMITT

​​​​Col Neil Dimmitt​ is ​the Dean of Students​ at ​the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, Maxwell AFB, Alabama​. In addition to duties as a Professor of Strategy and National Security, he is responsible to the Commandant for the administration and leadership of the student body as they complete the rigorous curriculum. This administration includes enforcing military standards while ensuring the students are prepared for the academic rigor of the school. 

Colonel Dimmitt earned his commission as a Distinguished Graduate through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Angelo State University in 2004. He is a top graduate of Undergraduate Air Battle Manager Training and has served as an Evaluator Senior Director in both the CRC and the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System. He is a graduate of Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) and earned his Doctorate in American Military History at Texas A&M during an Advanced Academic Degree assignment. His previous duty positions include Flight Commander, Chief of Standardization and Evaluations, ACSC Associate Professor, Director of Operations, and Squadron Commander. 

Colonel Dimmitt is a Senior Air Battle Manager with five years of CRC experience and 1,700 hours in the E-3 B/C/G. This includes 433 combat hours on the E-3 along with three CRC combat deployments. He has supported contingency operations including Operations NEW DAWN, ENDURING FREEDOM and INHERENT RESOLVE.
