Inbound Checklist: Non-DoD Civilians

 BIOGRAPHY, PHOTO & Civilian Service Summary.   Send your bio, photo (in a separate file) and a copy of your Civilian Service Summary to awc.studentops@us.af.mil NLT 1 Mar

 NIPR ACCESS FORMS All students must sign and return the NIPR User Agreement Portfolio (containing 4 files) to awc.studentops@us.af.mil NLT 1 Jun

 ADLS Account/Network Access. In order to establish your AWC e-mail and network account prior to your arrival, you must create an ADLS account and complete the CyberAwareness Training course. DoD CyberAwareness courses in JKO and other systems do not interface with AF network/ADLS. To create an ADLS account, go to: https://golearn.adls.af.mil/kc/login/register.asp or https:// golearn.adls.af.mil/login.aspx. Once registered/account created, take CyberAwareness Course by selecting "Course List" on left; "Total Force Awareness Training", then "Cyber Awareness Challenge". By completing training in ADLS, the AF-wide network will record your training and AWC can create your Maxwell AFB computer account. Recommend training be done No Earlier Than 20 May to prevent having to do it while at AWC.

 SECURITY CLEARANCE.  All Non-DoD Civilian students are required to have a Secret clearance to attend AWC. Additionally, all inbound Non-DoD Civilian students are encouraged to initiate a Top Clearance investigation with their current Security Manager upon notification of selection to AWC, to potentially participate in TS-level electives and/or briefings. If you are currently filling an SCI-level billet, ask your SSO for a Transfer-In-Status (TIS) to the AU/SSO at Maxwell AFB, Alabama (DSN 493-6715/3606). Finally, if your TS clearance is within 60 days of the 6-year expiration date, you must begin the update process through your current security manager. Please contact the AWC security manager (DSN 493-1399/commercial (334) 953-1399) with any questions

 COMMON ACCESS CARD (CAC)All students must have a valid DoD CAC prior to arrival at AWC. If you do not have one, the process to obtain a CAC for Non-DoD personnel is sequential & as follows:

1. Email Ms. Lynn Jones at carol.jones.4@us.af.mil, to request a CAC Support Information Sheet. Complete the form and return to her and call her at DSN 493-7128 or commercial (334) 953-7128 to let them know that you e-mailed the sheet.

2. Then Ms. Jones, who is trained as the Trusted Agent (TA) for this process, inputs the data you provided into TASS (Trusted Associate Sponsorship System).

3. You will receive an e-mail with a username and password from the Ms. Jones asking you to log into TASS and complete your information. Once you have completed the information requested, the she will receive an e-mail from TASS to approve your CAC request.

4. Once approved, you will receive an e-mail from TASS alerting you that your application for a CAC has been approved and asking you to proceed to the nearest RAPIDS Issuance Facility with two valid forms of identification (RAPIDS Locator Website: http://www.dmdc.osd.mil/rsl/). This should be complete before arriving at Maxwell.

 TRANSCRIPT All civilian students must request their official undergraduate transcript be mailed or e-mailed to the Air University Registrar’s Office NLT 1 Jun. Transcripts should be mailed to Air University Registrar; ATTN: Admissions; 60 Schumacher Ave; Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6337. The school can also send the transcripts electronically to airu.admission@gmail.com or au.admission@us.af.mil. Only one transcript is required from either the student’s bachelor or master degree, not both.

 LEAVE AWC will NOT authorize ordinary leave during the academic year, except for during a two- week holiday break in December; recommend you take sufficient leave prior to arrival at AWC.
