BIOGRAPHY, PHOTO & SURF. Send your bio, photo (in a separate file) and a copy of your SURF (CDB for Guard/Reserve) to awc.studentops@us.af.mil NLT 15 April.
TRAININGS: GOVT TRAVEL CARD (GTC) 101, DOD CYBER AWARENESS, AND DOD UNAUTHORIZED DISCLOSURE. All students must complete and send the certificates to to awc.studentops@us.af.mil NET 20 May. All training must be valid through the duration of the academic year. “Cyber Awareness” and “Unauthorized Disclosure” courses in JKO are acceptable, however at some point during the year, you may be required to complete the MyLearning training. Once you are logged on, select the “Air Force GoLearn” image, then click the “Total Force Awareness Training” drop down and complete the “Cyber Awareness Challenge” training and you can also search for the “Unauthorized Disclosure” training in MyLearning. The GTC 101 can be located at: https://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/neoaccess/login.php (Passport Trax).
STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING. All students must send the GTC Statement of Understanding (signed by the student only) to awc.studentops@us.af.mil NLT 15 April. A supervisor here at AWC will sign off upon arrival.
SECURITY CLEARANCE. All US students (Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, Civilians) must have a current or interim Top-Secret (TS) valid through 14 May 2025. Losing units must complete a transfer of clearance status to AWC upon PCS/TDY to AWC. Valid Cyber Awareness and Unauthorized Disclosure training certificates must be presented at in-processing. If you do not currently have a TS clearance, please initiate it with your Security Manager ASAP. Additionally, if you are currently filling an SCI-level billet, ask your SSO for a Transfer-In-Status (TIS) to the AU/SSO at Maxwell AFB, Alabama (DSN 493-6715/3606). Finally, if your TS clearance is within 60 days of the 6-year expiration date, you must begin the update process through your current security manager. Please contact the AWC security manager (DSN 493-1399/commercial (334) 953-1399) with any questions.
NARRATIVE-ONLY PROMOTION RECOMMENDATION FORM (N-O PRF). Active Duty Air Force students must have a N-O PRF completed/processed by their losing senior rater and submitted to AFPC by the losing MPF, IAW AFI 36-2406, para 8.1.2.1. and para 8.1.5.6.4, NLT 30 calendar days after the officer departs losing base. This is a member and losing senior rater/MPF responsibility. AWC does NOT receive nor process PRFs.
LEAVE. Take sufficient leave prior to arrival at AWC to avoid falling into a “use or lose” situation during the academic year. AWC will NOT authorize ordinary leave to students during the academic year, except for a two-week holiday break in December. There is no Spring Break at AWC.
MYLEARNING. All US Air Force students (Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, Civilians) must be current in all their MyLearning training requirements throughout the academic year. This includes the three Total Force Awareness Trainings (TFAT) and trainings listed earlier. To establish a MyLearning account go to: https://lms-jets.cce.af.mil and log on.
FITNESS STANDARDS. US Air Force students (Active Duty, Guard and Reserve) must maintain a current/passing PFT test score throughout the academic year IAW AFI 36-2905. Member will also complete body composition measurements during their birth month while at AWC.
IMR REQUIREMENTS. US Air Force students (Active Duty, Guard and Reserve) must maintain current IMR requirements throughout the academic year. Ensure your PHA/PHAQs are completed prior to departure to AWC (NET 20 May).
DEERS. . All DoD students must update their information in DEERS by the first day of class. Each student can verify his/her information in DEERS by going to : https://milconnect.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect/

Transcripts should be mailed to Air University Registrar; ATTN: Admissions; 60 Schumacher Ave; Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6337 or emailed to airu.admission@gmail.com. Only one transcript is required from either the student’s bachelors or masters degree, not both).

TRAVEL ORDERS. Civilian students attend AWC in a TDY status; ensure your travel orders reflect two fund cites: one for FY24 and one for FY25. Also, work with your home station Commercial Travel Office (CTO) and Orders Approving Authority (AO) to help you find lodging in accordance with local per diem rates. Later in the school year (around Spring), you will need “dual lodging” authorized due to a concurrent TDY.
PAY and LEAVE RECORDS. Because civilian students attend AWC in a TDY status, their pay and leave records are maintained by their home station. Take sufficient leave prior to arrival at AWC to avoid a “use or lose” situation during the academic year. AWC will NOT authorize ordinary leave during the academic year, except for during a two-week holiday break in December.
COMMON ACCESS CARD (CAC). All students must possess a valid DoD CAC prior to arrival at AWC. If you do not have one, you must obtain one at the nearest RAPIDS Issuance Facility with two valid forms of identification (RAPIDS Locator Website: https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/locator)

If you do not have a Common Access Card (CAC) you will need to work with your service/agency representative (advisor) that is on-site at AWC to sponsor you to obtain a base access pass for the duration of the academic year.
