Air Force Mentorship Defined

Dept of the Air Force Manual 36-2643, Coaching and Mentoring Program (12 Sep 23) defines mentorship as a type of professional relationship in which a person with greater experience and wisdom guides another person to develop both personally and professionally. This relationship helps achieve mission success and motivates Airmen to achieve their goals. DAFMAN 36-2643 applies to all Airmen-officer, enlisted, civilian, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve.

What This Mentoring Center Can Do for You

The CLDS Supervisor and Employee Resource Center provides mentoring resources for both supervisors and non-supervisors. You will also find live mentoring presentations, panel discussions, and more opportunities several times throughout the year from various DAF entities including CLDS. It is all about exploring and experiencing various ways to conduct deeper more meaningful engagement with employees, peers, and supervisors. You will find tools to assist you in your own and other’s development to broaden skills and competencies through a mentor-relationship lens.
