LeMay Center - Flag Officer Course Director / Platform Instructor (81T) Photo Details / Download Hi-Res Location: Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6426 Tour Length: 3 years Description: As a Flag Officer Course Director and Platform Instructor for the Combined Force Air Component Commander (CFACC) Course, Joint Flag Officer Warfighting Course (JFOWC), Cyberspace Operations Executive Course (COEC) and Senior Joint Information Operations Applications Course (SIJOAC), field grade officers coordinate all aspects of course design, senior officer student support, logistics, Instructional Systems Design alignment of course objectives with CJCSI Officer PME Programming, and annual planning of $115K fenced AFERB funded flag officer training quotas across five Flag Officer courses. Course Directors must maintain a high degree of professional image, be able to operate efficiently and autonomously with up to 24 flag officer students and senior mentors, and maintain accountability of classified material in a variety of classroom and informal environments. Course Directors will also maintain platform instructor qualification in support of Directorate PCE courses in one or more of the following areas: Multi-Domain Command & Control, Information Operations, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Agile Combat Support, Active Base Defense, Logistics Operations and DRRS, APEX/JOPES, National Security Strategy, Joint Warfare, and Air Campaign Planning. Course Directors regularly interface with all Service Flag Officer/General Officer Management Offices, Joint Staff J7, Combatant Command senior officers, and a variety of guest lecturers and adjunct faculty at the 3 and 4-star level as well as political appointees, Ambassadors, and retired senior officials. Eligibility: Majors and Lieutenant Colonels with an outstanding military record of performance, excellent communication skills, and completed PME commensurate with rank (by any method). Operations specialty and recent deployment experience highly desired. Candidates must present a confident, professional image and be able to perform protocol and executive support functions with very little guidance or support. WE plans, develops, integrates and executes PCE courseware oriented on force generation and deployment (Contingency Wartime Planner Course), Air Component staff planning (Joint Air Operations Planner Course), Joint Task Force (JTF) staff officer and JTF Headquarters planning and operations courses (JTF Staff Basic Course), and tailored support to Numbered Air Force and Component Major Command staff development during IOC and FOC training toward GFMAP alignment as a JTF Headquarters (capable) deployable unit. Additionally, on behalf of the CSAF and CJCS, WE manages five Flag Officer PME courses at the O7-O9 level.
