LeMay Center - PCE Course Director / Platform Instructor (81T0) Photo Details / Download Hi-Res Location: Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6426 Tour Length: 3 years Description: As a Course Director and Instructor for Contingency Wartime Planning Course (CWPC), Joint Air Operations Planning Course (JAOPC) and JTF Staff Basic Course at Shaw AFB, field grade officers lead all aspects of course design, student support, Instructional Systems Design lifecycle of instructional blocks, Instructor qualification and management, and annual planning of $3.2M AFERB-funded course quotas with the HAF course sponsor. Course Directors must maintain a high degree of professional image, be evaluated annually as a platform instructor, and maintain specialized knowledge in relevant course material through faculty development, technical education, or support of major exercises, experiments, and Air Force Lessons Learned collections. Course Directors function as Subject Matter Experts in one or more of the following areas: Multi-Domain Command & Control, Information Operations, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Agile Combat Support, Active Base Defense, Logistics Operations and DRRS, APEX/JOPES, National Security Strategy, Joint Warfare, and Air Campaign Planning. Course Directors regularly interface with MAJCOM Functional Area Managers, Training Quota Managers, HAF sponsor staffs, and other educational and PCE institutions including the International Officer School, Air Force Special Operations University, and the 505th Command & Control Wing. Eligibility: Majors [USAF only] and Lieutenant Colonels [USAF only] with an outstanding military record of performance, excellent communication skills, and completed PME commensurate with rank (by any method). Recent joint, JTF, or deployed staff experience within previous 36 months and demonstrated proficiency with Joint Planning Process (JP 5.0) or Air Operations planning (JOPP-A) critical for success and required. Prior AFFOR or CAOC/AOC/JOC experience and instructor/curriculum development experience is desired. Master’s degree not required but beneficial to research. WE plans, develops, integrates and executes PCE courseware oriented on force generation and deployment (Contingency Wartime Planner Course), Air Component staff planning (Joint Air Operations Planner Course), Joint Task Force (JTF) staff officer and JTF Headquarters planning and operations courses (JTF Staff Basic Course), and tailored support to Numbered Air Force and Component Major Command staff development during IOC and FOC training toward GFMAP alignment as a JTF Headquarters (capable) deployable unit.
