    Airmen now have at their fingertips the opportunity to receive credit for learning about another country’s culture while simultaneously responding to the chief of staff of the Air Force’s action order to understand the nation’s strategic competitors.
  • Air University Press releases memoir and Walker, Wright Flyer papers

    Air University Press announces the release of a memoir by Air Force’s first inspector general and the latest Walker Paper and Wright Flyer Paper. The Vital Era in Which America Nurtured Leaders and Tempered Arms, 1887–1950, is a memoir by Maj. Gen. Hugh J. Knerr and edited by Capt. David A. Loska. Few have done more to establish the Air Force and its logistics enterprise, as we know it today, than Knerr.
  • Airman and astronaut: Bluford receives 2021 AFROTC Distinguished Alumnus Award

    Retired Col. Guion “Guy” Bluford Jr. received the 2021 Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Distinguished Alumnus Award during a ceremony at Penn State on Oct. 6, 2021. Bluford studied at Penn State from 1960 to 1964, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. A distinguished graduate, he earned his commission through the university’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 720 program.
  • Largest CENTCOM C-130 Squadron hosts coalition partners

    Members from the Italian and Canadian air forces, as well as members from the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, received a tour of the Hercules from the 779th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron. The 779th EAS, the largest C-130 squadron in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, is responsible for delivering cargo and passengers to U.S. and coalition forces' bases, enabling a constant presence in the AOR.

    The increasing complexity and visibility of an Air Force community planner's job requires knowledge and skills in many diverse yet intricately interrelated topics.  The comprehensive planning development (WENG 520) course offered at the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Civil Engineer School enables students to gain an understanding of how planning decisions are shaped by physical, economic, political, social, environmental, and cultural considerations. 
  • Air University puts the ‘E’ in AETC

    Air Training Command was the eventual product of the Air Corps Flying Training Command established by the War Department in the midst of the Second World War nearly 80 years ago on Jan. 23, 1942. It took several name and mission changes over the next few years before the department settled on the name Air Training Command in 1946.
  • DoDEA Pilot Program enters second trial month at Maxwell Elementary/Middle School

    There are currently 360 students enrolled at MEMS, and more than 50 of those students have been enrolled under the Pilot Program, according to MEMS principal, Jamie Pittman.

  • What to do with old ABU’s? 908th Airlift Wing Airman has the answer

    No longer authorized for official wear, many Airmen don’t know what to do with their old ABU’s. Some have discarded them or relegated them to work clothes. Others have stuffed them into storage. Senior Airman Michael A. Sanchez, a passenger services agent with the 908th Airlift Wing’s 25th Aerial Port Squadron, had a better idea: collect and donate them to the Civil Air Patrol.
