INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN RESOURCES

Did you know that creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP) can be crucial for personal and professional growth while highlighting our Air Force Foundational Competencies?
An IDP can be a roadmap, guiding you toward your goals and helping unlock your full potential. By identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, you gain self-awareness, a powerful tool for success.

An effective plan not only outlines tangible objectives but also encourages continuous learning, fosters self-development, and promotes creative thinking. Embracing this structured approach empowers you to navigate challenges with resilience, seize opportunities for skill enhancement, and ultimately shape a fulfilling and successful future.

Not sure what to put in your IDP?
The CLDS is now creating sample IDP Competency Template as a suggested plan for personal development. Building upon a specific AF Foundational Competency, each Competency Template identifies goal behaviors civilians can work towards as well as resources to self-study as a means to increasing their skills in each area. Civilians can easily copy the goal behaviors and suggested resources into their own IDP to kickstart a plan for their own short-term (1 yr or less) goals.
