ARCS

Guard slots for summer 2024 are currently full. Due to the high demand for ARCS, we may offer a second session in 2025 in addition to the regularly scheduled summer session.  Keep an eye on this page for updates and email/call the Guard POC if you have additional questions.

Air Reserve Component Seminar (ARCS)

Unlock the full potential of your Professional Military Education with ARCS – the Air Reserve Component Seminar, tailored for Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members.

Specifically designed for majors and lieutenant colonels enrolled in the Air Command and Staff College or Air War College distance learning programs, ARCS offers:

Focused Intensity: Immerse yourself in an intensive two-week in-residence program, allowing you to concentrate on key segments of your ACSC or AWC distance learning coursework.

Accelerated Progress: Accomplish a substantial portion of your coursework during this dedicated period, with the support of expert guest lectures and hands-on exercises facilitated by Air University's resident and distance learning faculty. Upon completion of ARCS, AWC students will be ~50% complete with their DL coursework and ACSC students will be 60% complete.

Peer Collaboration: Forge meaningful connections with fellow Reserve Command members, fostering collaboration and expanding your professional network.

NEW FOR 2024

Air Force Reserve and Guard O-4/O-4 selects have the opportunity to participate in a pilot test for Global College’s Agile Learning Initiative and complete 60% of their ACSC DL. Agile Learning aims to enhance the distance learning student experience by introducing an in-person PME alternative.

ACSC ARCS students will take select, newly developed Agile Learning courses in place of select ACSC Distance Learning (DL) courses. Upon completion of ARCS, students will be just over 60% complete with their ACSC DL.

How to Apply

For ANG officers, NGB/HRT releases a course announcement/call for applications to Base Education Training Managers and Unit Training Managers each fall/winter. The course announcement and application information can be found here:

For Air Force Reserve officers, specific application instructions for the ARCS program will be included in the Fall Reserve School Selection Board (RSSB) announcement.
