Members of a Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer (RED HORSE) from Hulbert Field, Florida, arrived at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, July 6, in support of expanding an Air University training facility.

The RED HORSE team will start construction on Vigilant Warrior, a training site near Titus, Alabama, designed to provide a field training and expeditionary experience for Air Force officer commissioning programs at AU.

The training facilities are required for Officer Training School and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and include lodging structures to accommodate students, obstacle courses, office space, classrooms, storage facilities, unit assembly area and latrines.

"The team is expected to plus up over the coming weeks, but the first group will be accomplishing the groundbreaking, dirt moving and landscaping," said Capt. Cameron Goswick, Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accessions and Citizen Development Mission Support chief.

The facility will host approximately 2,400 students annually, and facilities will be operated and maintained in accordance with existing OTS complex procedures.
