  • Air University teaches space as a warfighting domain

    In all levels of professional military education and select professional continuing education curricula, the university will now be presenting space curriculum that is focused on developing joint-minded graduates who are prepared for joint, all-domain conflict, where the space domain is likely to be contested, degraded and operationally limited.

    Lt. Col. Jay Rutledge, an associate professor and senior military faculty member at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), performing a year-long sabbatical in the directorate, earned the award in the Science and Engineering Educator category and will now compete for the award at the Air Force level.
  • Marine Commander’s Perspective on an AFIT Education

    United States Marine Corps Lt. Col. James C. Paxton III is currently serving as the commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (nicknamed the “Guardians”) in Yuma, Arizona.  He is a naval aviator who flew F/A-18C and KC-130J aircraft, and now flies the UC-12F.  He attended TOPGUN in 2007, and was designated a strike fighter tactics instructor.
