Arabic LEAP scholar Staff Sgt. Abdullah Azzam is providing language support to the U.S. Army’s 2d Security Force Assistance Brigade in North Africa through the Air Force Culture and Language’s Training Partnership Request program, creating a significant impact to the initial rapport-building phase of U.S. Army Africa operations. The 2d SFAB organizes, trains, advises, and supports foreign security forces in coordination with joint, interagency, and multinational forces to improve partner capability and capacity and facilitate U.S. strategic objectives. Staff Sgt. Azzam is bridging a language contract gap and facilitating conversations between the 2d SFAB advisors and the partner nation military and their staff’s senior Commanders.
