Joint Warrior Studies Seminar Published Feb. 26, 2021 Air War College, Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL Established in 2020, the Joint Warrior Studies Seminar (JWSS) has built a reputation for educating capable Joint Leaders able to craft innovative joint campaigns against great power adversaries. Our mission is to “Develop Strategic Judgment and Operational Excellence” in future senior leaders. As an Advanced Studies Group (ASG) Program, graduates are placed in positions of significance, typically focused on joint plans and operations. Staff rides, planning exercises, and joint acculturation travel reinforce seminar curriculum. The dedicated faculty organizes the academic year into distinct phases; “learning from the past” (studying past great power wars,) “understanding the present” (focused on Russia and China,) and “winning the next war” (joint campaign planning directed against current and future great power adversaries.) Although our curriculum and schedule differ from the main body, graduates receive full JPME Phase II credit with a concentration master’s degree.
