Education Support Squadron - Plans and Programs (82A0)

Tour Length: 3 years

Description: Oversees all plans and programs supporting officer professional military education (OPME) to include Air War College and its five reporting academic centers, Air Command and Staff College, Squadron Officer School, Cyber College and the International Officer School.

Provides and integrates immediate academic support to 33,000 OPME resident and non-resident students, faculty and staff. Supports corporate budgetary planning process, with annual budget in excess of $35M. Examines, develops, and evaluates commander’s program issues, and develops recommendations to resolve substantive problems and issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a center program. Identifies operational requirements, assesses impact on assignments, and develops recommendations for changes and revisions as appropriate. Documents planning and programming decisions in appropriate formats to meet Air Force and Major Command requirements.

Eligibility: Captains [USAF only] and Majors [USAF only]. Desired – WIT experience, POM experience, emergency management experience, UCC Experience. Knowledge of DoD, Joint, and AF policies, instructions, and regulations directing the management of operations and comprehensive plans programs. 

Required:  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy and diplomacy.
