Outdoor Recreation plans trip to tree farm Published Nov. 25, 2009 By Chloe Gibbs 42nd Force Support Squadron Marketing & Publicity MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Maxwell's Outdoor Recreation is planning a trip to the Wadsworth Tree Farm Dec. 12. Families can enjoy a hay ride as well as choose and cut a fresh Christmas tree. Outdoor Recreation is providing a flatbed to carry the trees back to Maxwell. In its 30th year of operation, the Wadsworth Tree Farm is located seven miles north of Wetumpka. Thousands of trees are available to choose from, and costs range from $28 for a 5-foot tree up to $90 for a 10-foot tree. Larger trees are available, and cost is determined by tree size, quality and variety. The cost for round-trip transportation is $3. This cost does not include the tree. The bus leaves Equipment Checkout at 9 a.m. Deadline for reservation is Dec. 4. For more information or to sign up, call 953-9593.
