We would like to congratulate our LEAP Scholar Maj Evgenia “Hazel” Peduzzi, who not only just promoted from Captain to Major on Friday, 29 May 2020, but she’s also about to begin her new job as Aide de Camp to the Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, Gen. Stephen W. Wilson, the second highest-ranking military officer in the USAF.

In the 10 years since receiving her commission through the Pennsylvania State University ROTC program in 2010, Maj Peduzzi served as an Intelligence Officer leading several teams specializing in threat analysis, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, and exploitation and dissemination operations in support of world-wide missions.

Maj Peduzzi has deployed in multiple roles ranging from intelligence support to serving as an interpreter, language and cultural advisor. She was selected to serve as the Host Nation Liaison, aiding top military and Department of State leaders in Kyrgyzstan through the Theatre Security Cooperation program. The AFCENT/A2 by-name requested her to deploy to the Combined Air Operations Center in Qatar to stand up the Russian Analysis Division and provide cultural support and interpretation for the daily negotiations between Coalition leadership and Russian general officers in Syria. Finally, she deployed as the SIO of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, where she provided daily intelligence support to the Wing Commander and staff agencies while preparing all organizations for threats in the local area and the area of operations.
