AFJROTC archers aim for, take gold at national competition

Air Force Junior ROTC cadets took home top honors again at another joint-service Junior ROTC event – the 2023 Eastern Archery Nationals in Louisville, KY, on May 13.

Another amazing night for AFJROTC! The 2023 Eastern Archery Nationals results have Howell High School, Howell, MI, taking home top overall honors. Howell was the 1st Place winners in both the Bullseye and 3D categories. Also, congratulations to 5th place winner in Bullseye, Bob Jones High School from Madison, AL. Waller High School, Waller, TX, took home the 5th Place trophy in 3D. 

Congratulations to all the Air Force team award winners! 

Individual Bullseye winners were: 10th Place - Jordon Parker, Bob Jones HS; 8th Place - Tristan Stuart, Howell HS; 4th Place - Hannah Whitefoot, Howell HS, 3rd Place - Mercedes Pattilo, Republic HS, MO, and in 2nd Place - Maggie Mason, Republic High School.

Individual award winners in 3D competition. 8th Place - Wyatt Adair, Waller HS; 6th Place- Seth Hodel, Howell HS; 2nd Place - Tanner Mayer, Howell HS and in 1st Place - Tristan Stuart, Howell HS. 

Lastly, the overall champion for the event was 1st Place - Tristan Stuart, Howell HS.

Great job cadets way to bring it home!

3D archery is an activity where a participant walks a course stopping at shooting different stations to stations. The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) National Rules are the governing rules for the Western and Eastern National and Open Championship tournaments.
